The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s when it started as a residence owned by Dr. W.C. Galt. By 1835, it transformed into a 60-room hotel located on the waterfront, becoming the iconic Galt House Hotel. In 1972, developer Al J. Schneider revitalized the hotel as part of Louisville's Riverfront Urban Renewal Project. He constructed the impressive 25-story West Tower overlooking the Ohio River and later added the East Tower in 1984. Today, the Galt House Hotel is the city's only waterfront hotel.
